NETRADE opened its doors for business in 2001 in Harare, Zimbabwe. Combining their experience and expertise in commodity trading the founding partners quickly established the company’s reputation for identifying opportunity, acting quickly and delivering results. From commodity trading the company made a natural progression to the development and distribution of its own branded goods starting with the Royal Ocean Pilchards brand. Over the years Netrade has developed other ‘own brands’ such as King’s Choice and Royal Sun.
As the business grew NETRADE began to diversify investing in other sector specific operations such as transport (EXCEL FREIGHT) fuel Distribution (NETFUEL), salt packaging (SALTWORX), warehousing (S&P) and geyser manufacturing (THERMOTEC).
NETRADE’S rapid expansion and success is attributable to the groups’ ability to identify business opportunities within the region (Southern/ Central Africa) for which there is likely to be consistently high demand and to develop or invest in businesses which will meet consumer demand effectively and efficiently. In addition NETRADE has proven itself to be a resilient and robust business organisation capable of providing the highest standards of service and quality to its diversified customer base in sometimes challenging circumstances.
Today NETRADE employs 300 staff across the group with a footprint that extends regionally from Zimbabwe to Mozambique and Malawi.
